Chidimma Adetshina, the reigning Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, touched down in Nkanu, Enugu State, to a warm and celebratory reception. Her arrival was marked by cheers, cultural displays, and heartfelt appreciation from the locals for her inspiring journey.
After the Miss Universe competition, Chidimma took to social media to express deep gratitude to Nigerians for their unwavering support during her toughest times. She wrote:
“To Nigeria: THANK YOU is not enough for all the support you’ve shown. You picked me up when I was at my lowest. On days I never wanted to fight, you gave me the strength to fight. I’m so grateful for everyone who walked this journey with me.”
She also extended her appreciation to the African continent, acknowledging the unity and love she received:
“To Africa: As much as I represent Nigeria, Africa fought for me. My voice and my story brought us together. This journey has taught me the power of unity.”

Chidimma emphasized that this victory isn’t an endpoint but the beginning of her mission to inspire unity, celebrate diversity, and uplift others.
While Nigerians celebrated her homecoming, some social media users couldn’t resist poking fun at other countries in the competition, with cheeky comments like:
“South Africans are cryinggg in their bed bug-infested beds!”
This playful banter aside, Chidimma’s triumph has been widely celebrated as a victory for all Africans.
As she embarks on this new chapter, Chidimma promises to use her platform to champion unity, empowerment, and acceptance across the globe.
