May Edochie, the estranged wife of actor Yul Edochie, has responded to backlash over her divorce, clarifying misconceptions about her stance on marriage.
May, who filed for divorce in 2023 citing adultery after Yul’s controversial marriage to actress Judy Austin, faced criticism from some men who accused her of promoting divorce.

In a candid interview on the Glasshouse Podcast with comedian AY Makun, May expressed her love for family values. "Some men see me as someone that is misleading their wives," she shared. "I love family and marriage…but ideally, marriage is the foundation of family. There would be no you or me without family.”
Firmly countering the narrative, May added, "I’m not in any way advocating separation or divorce…let me categorically state it now that I’m not an advocate for divorce.”
May’s comments have struck a chord with many, sparking conversation around marriage expectations, personal integrity, and the importance of family.
