Timaya, known for his distinct musical style and energetic performances, explained that Portable’s wild and unfiltered personality reminds him of his younger self.
"Portable is crazy like me," Timaya stated, drawing comparisons between the rising star’s bold persona and his own early career. The "Cold Outside" hitmaker reminisced about his initial encounter with Portable's music, sharing that he immediately connected with the artist's raw energy.
“I remember telling 2face Idibia about him when we were headed to Delta State. I said, 'Have you heard that guy, Portable? Zazu Zeh. That guy is just like me because I was a crazy guy,’” Timaya recalled.
Reflecting on his own journey, Timaya pointed out that many younger fans are unaware of how intense his early career was. "These Gen Z’s don’t know about my early career. They think I'm unproblematic now because I’ve calmed down. But if they knew me back then, they’d understand. I was hot like fire, but I’ve grown," he added with a laugh.
Timaya's comments have sparked conversations among fans who see the parallels between the two artists' rebellious spirits and unfiltered approach to fame.
