Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has weighed in on the ongoing feud between music heavyweights Wizkid and Davido, claiming that the duo’s rivalry is merely a tactic to remain relevant in the industry.
According to Portable, both artists are using their public beef as a form of promotion since their music, in his opinion, is no longer marketable.
According to Portable, both artists are using their public beef as a form of promotion since their music, in his opinion, is no longer marketable.
In a post shared on his Instagram story, the Zazu crooner urged both stars to focus on their craft rather than resorting to beef to stay in the spotlight. “Don’t use your brother to shine, shine yourself. Una songs no dey market again, na fight una dey use do promotion,” Portable stated, expressing his frustration with their ongoing feud.
Making his stance clear, Portable declared that he stands apart from the ongoing social media war between Wizkid and Davido. “Me, I no dey for Davido. Me, I no dey for Wizkid. I dey for myself,” he wrote, emphasizing his independence and confidence in his own music. Portable went further, claiming that he is now bigger than both Wizkid and Davido, declaring, “Who is big is big.”
Wizkid recently ignited tensions by calling Davido “wack” and “talentless,” and even dragged Davido’s family into the feud, while Davido has yet to respond publicly to the provocations.
As the social media battle rages on, Portable’s bold comments have added another layer of drama to the ongoing saga between two of Nigeria's biggest music icons. Fans and critics alike are now watching closely to see how Wizkid and Davido will respond to Portable’s claims, or if they will continue to focus on their individual careers.
