More than 100 female soccer players have come together to sign an open letter calling on FIFA to terminate its sponsorship agreement with Saudi oil company Aramco. 

The athletes have voiced their concerns about the deal, highlighting Saudi Arabia's troubling human rights record, particularly regarding women's rights and LGBTQ+ issues. 

While FIFA has defended the partnership, asserting that the sponsorship funds contribute to the growth of women's football, players such as Erin McLeod contend that FIFA is placing financial gain above human rights considerations.
