In a significant development, the Lagos State government has announced that the toxicology report from the United States on the late singer Mohbad is now in their possession.
The disclosure was made by the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro SAN, during a press conference on Monday, October 21, 2024.

Pedro, addressing the media at the Ministry of Justice in Ikeja, revealed that the much-anticipated trial to uncover those responsible for Mohbad's untimely death is set to begin soon. He acknowledged the delays but attributed them to the complexity of the investigation.
“The reports have been received from the United States," Pedro confirmed, adding that the autopsy findings are currently with the Lagos State Pathologist and Coroner Magistrate. He also mentioned that Mohbad’s family had requested to conduct an independent autopsy, which had added to the delay.
The Attorney General assured the public that despite the prolonged investigation, the case is progressing. "We are working towards ensuring justice is served. The trial will commence soon, and the court will take its course."
The revelation of the toxicology report has heightened the anticipation surrounding the case, with many eager to see how the legal proceedings unfold in the coming weeks.
