Nigerian social critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, is set to testify before the House of Representatives on September 30, following explosive allegations that crossdresser Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, bribed Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officials with N15 million to dismiss a money laundering case.
The investigation was triggered after VeryDarkMan released a controversial audio recording in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have not only bribed EFCC officials but also evaded his six-month prison sentence. According to the recording, Bobrisky revealed that, instead of serving time in Kirikiri prison as mandated by the court, he stayed in a private apartment, allegedly arranged by his godfather.
In response to these alarming claims, the House of Representatives has launched an official inquiry, summoning VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky, and EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede to appear before a panel. This investigation has sparked intense public scrutiny, raising concerns about corruption and accountability within Nigeria’s law enforcement and prison systems.
VeryDarkMan's attorney, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed his client’s attendance at the upcoming session in a post on X, expressing their commitment to unveiling the truth behind the alleged N15 million bribe and Bobrisky's preferential treatment during his supposed prison term.
As Nigerians eagerly await the outcome, the investigation promises to cast a light on the deep-rooted issues of corruption and power abuse in the country's justice system.
