Rising Nigerian singer Shallipopi has stirred up the music scene with bold advice for his fellow artistes, urging them to charge fees that reflect their value and success.

In a recent interview with News Central TV, the artist addressed the growing debate surrounding the high booking fees charged by Nigerian musicians.

Shallipopi made it clear that an artiste’s pricing should be tied directly to the impact and reach of their music. He dismissed the idea that Nigerian stars have overpriced themselves out of the local market, instead advocating for fair fees based on global success.

“It depends on your music and where it has gotten, that is what your price is going to be,” Shallipopi explained. “If your music has gotten the same streams as an American artiste, you should be charging the same way they charge, but if it's not up to that, you cannot overcharge.”
