Pop sensation Selena Gomez has officially become a billionaire, according to Bloomberg's Billionaires Index. The Rare singer and actress has amassed an estimated fortune of $1.3 billion, with her booming cosmetics brand, Rare Beauty, accounting for over 80% of her wealth.
While Gomez first gained fame as a child star on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, her entrepreneurial ventures have far surpassed her entertainment earnings. She reportedly earned around $3 million from her time on the hit show but struck gold with her makeup brand, Rare Beauty, which has seen explosive success.
Brand partnerships, acting roles, and her mental-health startup have further contributed to Gomez’s soaring net worth. Despite her massive influence in the music world, tours and album sales have contributed less than 5% to her wealth.
With 424 million Instagram followers, Gomez is now one of the platform’s most popular figures, only trailing football superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. But it’s her business acumen, particularly with Rare Beauty, that has secured her place among the world’s wealthiest entertainers.
