Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has taken a stand against the rising trend of "fake miracles" in some Nigerian churches, calling out the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and urging the government to intervene.

In a bold Instagram post on Wednesday, Ogbonna expressed his disappointment over pastors exploiting vulnerable believers by faking miracles, calling it a betrayal of Christianity. He condemned the use of God's name for deceit, emphasizing that such actions tarnish the true essence of faith.

Ogbonna stated, "It is heartbreaking to see pastors faking miracles to deceive and exploit vulnerable people. These acts stain the true essence of Christianity, turning faith into a spectacle for selfish gain."

He urged CAN and the government to regulate and hold accountable those who manipulate religion for personal profit, adding that Christianity should not be used as a tool for viral content or entertainment.
His comments follow the circulation of a controversial video involving bizarre testimonies from members of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, which included claims of miraculous rescues by lions and invulnerability to armed attacks.

Ogbonna's statement has sparked widespread discussions about the integrity of religious practices and the responsibility of leaders to protect the faith from being misrepresented.
