Newly-crowned Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has revealed that she deleted her X (formerly Twitter) account to prioritize her mental health.
The beauty queen had faced intense scrutiny when she competed for Miss South Africa, with critics targeting her family following allegations from South Africa’s Department of Home Affairs (DHA) that her mother was involved in fraud and identity theft.

During an interview on Arise 360, Chidimma explained that the overwhelming backlash, combined with her habit of reading comments, began to take a toll on her mental well-being. She decided to step away from the platform to find peace.
"I had to delete it because I felt like it was too much for me. I’m a comment reader, so I read each and every comment... it became toxic for me," she shared.
Chidimma added that limiting social media usage helped alleviate the stress, and she thanked her fans for their continued support during such a challenging time.
