Belgium national team midfielder Kevin De Bruyne expressed his reflections following the Nations League second-round match against France, where the team suffered a 0-2 defeat.
"I can't say exactly what went wrong. I already talked about it with the team during the break, and I can't repeat it in the media, but we must improve in all aspects. If the standard we want to reach is to be the best, and we're not good enough to achieve that level, then we need to give our all. If we don't do at least that, it's all over.
I can accept that we're not as strong as in 2018. I was the first to notice this, but there are other things that are unacceptable. I won’t say which. We have too many players in the defensive line. If we stay with six players in defense, we lose the connection. But it is what it is. It’s not about transitioning from defense to attack, but about people not fulfilling their duties."
