Veteran Nigerian entertainer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has shed light on why the fuel produced by Dangote's refinery is pure white in color.

In a detailed post on Thursday, Charly Boy revealed that the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from Dangote’s refinery is refined using ethanol, which enhances engine efficiency and reduces air pollution.

Charly Boy explained that fuel derived from ethanol contains oxygen, which lowers engine carbonation and minimizes carbon dioxide emissions.

According to him, this makes the fuel more environmentally friendly and efficient for engines. He also clarified that the fuel's clear appearance, similar to water, signifies its purity and superior refinement process.

"Because ethanol has a good amount of oxygen, it lessens the amount of carbonation in engines, thereby reducing air pollution which comes as Carbon dioxide. So this is the best form of petrol," Charly Boy wrote.

This revelation comes as the Dangote refinery gears up to start fuel production. Founder Aliko Dangote has stated that the pricing for petroleum products will be determined by President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The new development has sparked excitement as Dangote displayed a sample of the white fuel, which is seen as a positive step toward improving fuel quality in Nigeria.
