Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Divine Ikubor, widely known as Rema, recently addressed the swirling rumors about his hefty paycheck for performing at the wedding of Anant Ambani, son of Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant.
The star-studded event, dubbed the wedding of the year, also featured performances by global icons such as Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Akon, and Pitbull.
Rumors suggested that Rema was paid a staggering $3 million, approximately five billion Naira, to perform at the pre-wedding bash.
However, during an interview with UK media platform GRM Daily on the latest episode of "Thoughts in a Culli," Rema neither confirmed nor denied the exact figure. He stated, "I couldn't confirm or deny the rumours but made known that he was paid handsomely for the gig and as well treated very well by the family and the whole of India at large."
