Peter Okoye, one half of the renowned Nigerian music duo PSquare, has publicly addressed allegations made by his twin brother, Paul Okoye, claiming that Peter was behind his detention by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a detailed statement posted on his Instagram page, Peter denied ever petitioning the EFCC against his brother, clarifying that his focus was solely on their elder brother, Jude Okoye, and Jude's wife, Ifeoma.
Peter revealed that he had discovered Jude and Ifeoma were operating a secret company, Northside Music, which they were allegedly using to divert millions of dollars and hundreds of millions of naira from PSquare's management company, Northside Entertainment. Upon discovering the secret company, Peter confronted Paul multiple times, but Paul denied any involvement or knowledge of the matter.
According to Peter, he eventually took the issue to the EFCC, leading to Jude's detention after it was found that Jude had been collecting PSquare's royalties for years and transferring the funds to his personal account. Peter emphasized that Paul's name was never included in the petition; Paul was merely invited for questioning along with others who had transactional dealings with Jude's secret company.
Peter further disclosed that during the investigation, Jude admitted to sending money to Paul but claimed it was repayment of a loan from the sale of their house in America. Peter's statement comes weeks after Paul Okoye's interview with City FM, where Paul alleged that Peter had orchestrated his and Jude's arrest by the EFCC.
This latest development sheds new light on the ongoing feud between the Okoye brothers and their former manager, revealing the deep financial and familial conflicts that have strained their relationship.
As the situation unfolds, fans and followers of PSquare are left to process the complex dynamics within one of Nigeria's most iconic music families.
