Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has spoken highly of his ex-wife, Ireti Doyle, describing her as a "first class mother" and a dedicated provider for their children. In a recent interview with Olumide Iyanda, publisher of QEDNG, Patrick, 63, expressed that he harbors no ill feelings toward Ireti following their divorce.
Addressing a past Facebook post that appeared to be an apology to Ireti in 2018, Patrick explained, “Ireti is a first class mother and provider for her children. She is taking good care of my daughter. How can I wish her ill? As far as mothers go, they don’t come any better. She provides 360 mothering care.”
Patrick emphasized his respect for Ireti's role as a mother, acknowledging her comprehensive care for their children. He also took responsibility for ensuring the stability of their home, indicating his attempts to alleviate tensions during their marriage.
"As a man, it is my duty to say you don’t look happy. Responsibility for the stability of the home is that of the head of the home. So that was a bid to ease whatever the tensions were at the time,” he said.
The couple, who married in 2004, officially divorced in 2023. They share five children together.
This heartfelt acknowledgment from Patrick highlights the importance of mutual respect and support in co-parenting, even after a relationship ends.
