Former United States President Barack Obama has once again highlighted his love for global music by featuring several African artists in his annual summer playlist. This year, the playlist includes tracks from Nigerian music stars Tems and Rema, as well as South African singer Tyla.

Obama selected Tems' Love Me Jeje, Rema's Yayo, and Tyla's Jump, which features Gunna and Skillibeng, as some of his favorite African songs for the summer.

These selections showcase the former president's appreciation for Afrobeats and the growing influence of African music on the global stage.

Topping Obama's playlist is A Bar Song (Tipsy) by Nigerian-American country music star Shaboozey, reflecting the diverse range of genres that Obama enjoys.

Sharing his playlist via X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Obama wrote, "With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you find something new to listen to!"

The playlist features a variety of songs from different artists across multiple genres and continents, further solidifying Obama's reputation for having a broad and inclusive taste in music.

This annual tradition has become a much-anticipated event, with fans and artists alike eager to see which tracks have caught the former president's ear each year.
