#EndBadGovernance: DJ Switch Challenges Wike and Dokubo To Come Out And Carry Out Their Threats

Famous Nigerian DJ and activist, Obianuju Catherine, popularly known as DJ Switch, has issued a bold challenge to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, in the midst of ongoing nationwide hunger protests.

The 10-day nationwide hunger protests, dubbed 'EndBadGovernance', commenced on Thursday, August 1, 2024, focusing on Nigeria’s severe economic issues.

Ahead of the demonstrations, Asari Dokubo had warned organizers to avoid his region, claiming that the protest's agenda did not address the local issues. Similarly, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike declared that Abuja would not be available for the protests. In a meeting with the security council in Abuja on the first day of the protests, Wike mentioned intelligence reports indicating that protesters intended to destroy property.

In response to these statements, DJ Switch, known for her activism during the 2020 EndSARS protests, challenged both Wike and Dokubo to face the protesters publicly if they were not afraid. She emphasized that the solution to the people's hunger is food, not violence or threats.

In a post on her social media page, DJ Switch wrote: 

“The only thing that can stop HUNGER is FOOD! Not guns, teargas, or threats from fat globs like Asari Dokubo and chicken feed Wike! I wonder why they are hiding now. Come outside let them eat you raw.”

Her statement has sparked conversations on social media, with many supporting her stance and calling for immediate action to address the hunger crisis in Nigeria. The nationwide protests continue to draw attention to the economic hardships faced by many Nigerians, demanding effective governance and solutions to their pressing issues.
