Chidimma Adetshina, the embattled contestant who recently withdrew from the Miss South Africa competition amid controversy over her nationality, has officially joined the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant as the representative of Taraba State.
Born in Soweto at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in 2001, Chidimma is of mixed heritage, with her father being of Igbo descent and her mother reportedly a Mozambican who has since become a naturalized citizen of South Africa.

On Friday, the organizers of Miss Universe Nigeria introduced Chidimma as contestant number 25, representing Taraba State, on their official website and social media platforms. The introduction read, "Introducing CHIDIMMA ADETSHINA (@chichi_vanessa) as MISS TARABA STATE."
Chidimma's participation in Miss Universe Nigeria marks a new chapter in her pageantry journey, as she seeks to showcase her talents and represent her heritage on an international stage.
