British band Coldplay's ‘Music of the Spheres Tour’ has made history as the first rock music tour to gross over $1 billion. The milestone tour has now surpassed Sir Elton John's five-year farewell tour, officially becoming the highest-grossing rock tour in music history.
According to Billboard, the ‘Music of the Spheres Tour’ is also the first tour in the rock genre to report a worldwide gross exceeding $1 billion. This achievement follows American singer Taylor Swift's ‘Eras’ tour, which was the first music tour to surpass $1 billion in revenue last year.
Coldplay’s tour has been celebrated not only for its record-breaking earnings but also for its memorable performances. Nigerian sensations Ayra Starr and Burna Boy joined the band for special performances during the Italy and Dublin stops of the tour, adding to the tour’s global appeal.
