“A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which creatively interpolates J-Kwon’s 2004 hit “Tipsy,” has also maintained its dominance on the Hot Country Songs chart for the fourth consecutive week.
Remarkably, Shaboozey has made history as the first Black man, and the second Black artist overall after Beyoncé, to top both the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts simultaneously. Beyoncé previously achieved this with “Texas Hold ‘Em.”

In an interview with Billboard in May, he expressed his admiration for Beyoncé’s work, saying, “What I loved about [the] Beyoncé album is the inspiration and the influence that she had are probably the same as mine. We’re studying the same things.”

Discussing the creative process behind “A Bar Song,” Shaboozey revealed, “I had been wanting to flip a 2000s song for a while. I just said, ‘Everybody at the bar getting tipsy,’ and then we were like, ‘Oh, sh-t!’ The producer picked up the guitar and started playing the chords, and then we started writing, just having fun and being creative.”
