Lamine Yamal break world record as the youngest player to score a goal in major international tournaments!
In the 21st minute of the match between Spain and France, in EURO 2024, Lamine Yamal made history by scoring an equaliser for Spain at the age of just 16 years old.
This achievement made him the youngest goalscorer, breaking the previous record held by Switzerland's Johan Vonlathen since 2004.
Vonlathen was 18 years and 141 days old when he scored a goal against France, making Yamal's record-breaking goal even more impressive at just 16 years and 362 days old.
Lamine Yamal, who will celebrate his 17th birthday on July 13, holds the distinction of being the youngest player to participate in the Euros. With three assists to his name, he is currently tied for the lead in assists and is quickly gaining recognition as one of the standout players of Euro 2024.
Pele held the record for 66 years.
