Jolie, known for her humanitarian efforts, has been outspoken about her concerns for the Palestinian people amid the escalating conflict.
In an interview with Variety, Voight suggested that Jolie's stance has been heavily influenced by the United Nations, where she has served as a Special Envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). He expressed his love for his daughter but voiced his disagreement with her position.
“I love my daughter. I don’t want to fight with my daughter, but the fact is, I think she has been influenced by the U.N,” Voight stated. “From the beginning, it’s been awful with human rights. They call it human rights, but it’s just anti-Israel bashing.”
This family disagreement comes against the backdrop of a broader debate in the entertainment industry regarding the Israel-Palestine conflict. Recently, American singer Kehlani revealed on "The Breakfast Club" that she faced significant professional setbacks due to her support for Palestine.
Despite raising $500,000 for humanitarian causes in Gaza, Congo, and Sudan, Kehlani noted that her charitable efforts had led to "a lot of pushback" and lost opportunities.
