Frank Onyeka, the midfield star of Brentford, has made history by becoming the fastest player for the club in the recently concluded 2023/24 Premier League season.
The Premier League's official Instagram page shared a post showcasing the fastest runs by players from each club, with Onyeka standing out as the quickest for Brentford, The PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
During Brentford's match against Arsenal on March 9, Onyeka showcased his lightning-fast speed by reaching an impressive top speed of 36.11km/h. The competition was no match for him as he left defenders in his dust with his incredible pace.
Not to be outdone, Arsenal's young talent Gabriel Martinelli also displayed his speed by recording a top speed of 36.32km/h during the match. Meanwhile, Moussa Diaby was Villa's fastest player on the pitch, reaching a top speed of 36.43km/h.
It wasn't just the attackers who were showing off their speed, as defender Illia Zabarnyi proved that defenders can be quick too. The Bournemouth player clocked an impressive top speed of 36.61km/h, showing that speed is a valuable asset for players in all positions on the field.
