The Lagos police command has successfully rescued the three abducted Fouani brothers, TheCable reports.

On June 14, Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani, and Amtal Fouani were abducted around 6 pm in Lagos. The brothers, who are part of Fouani Nigeria Ltd—sole distributors of LG, Hisense, and Maxi products in Nigeria—were reportedly returning from their factory by boat when they were kidnapped.

The police had been working tirelessly to secure their release, and on Monday night, the victims were freed in Orugbo Iddo. Along with the brothers, the boat driver and his assistant were also rescued.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, confirmed the rescue via a WhatsApp chat, stating that the operation was carried out by the Lagos Marine police with support from the navy. The victims have since been safely taken to their residences.

This successful rescue operation marks a significant achievement for the Lagos police and allied forces in their ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping in the region.

However, Netizens met the news of the rescue with disbelief as they called it a lie. Some said there would have been ransom paid but that was kept out of the public as if they were rescued.
