Howard University Revokes Honorary Degree Awarded to Sean 'Diddy' Combs

Howard University has officially revoked the honorary degree conferred upon embattled American rapper and music executive, Sean Combs, also known as Diddy. The decision was made following a unanimous vote by the university's Board of Trustees.

This action comes in the wake of multiple sexual assault charges against Diddy and the release of a video showing him assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, in a hotel. The university deemed his behavior fundamentally incompatible with its core values.

A spokesperson for Howard University told Fox on Friday, "The Howard University Board of Trustees voted unanimously today to accept the return by Mr. Sean Combs of the honorary degree conferred upon him in 2014.

This acceptance revokes all honors and privileges associated with the degree. Accordingly, the Board has directed that his name be removed from all documents listing honorary degree recipients of Howard University."

Diddy, who was a former student at Howard University, dropped out after two years in 1990. He received the honorary doctorate and served as the commencement speaker in 2014. The revocation of his degree marks a significant step by the university in upholding its values and addressing serious allegations against a high-profile individual.
