Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has reflected on his journey to fame, attributing his success to the support of prominent Afrobeat musicians.

In a recent Instagram post, the 'Zazoo' crooner recounted how his path to recognition was significantly influenced by the help of Wizkid, Olamide, and British rapper Skepta.

Portable revealed that his career took off after meeting Wizkid, who generously gave him $3,000. Despite claiming that he was ripped off, he acknowledged that this money served as a crucial stepping stone.

“Machala gave me 30 bills of $100 even though they ripped me. Olamide blessed me with fans, the 30% I collected made me successful till date. Skepta helped me with fans. I’m still successful,” Portable shared in his video post.

He expressed deep gratitude to Indigenous rapper Olamide, also known as Badoo, for blessing him with loyal fans who have supported him throughout his career. Portable also credited Skepta for his role in expanding his fanbase through their collaboration on the hit song 'Tony Montana.'

This reflective video from Portable comes amid the backlash he received for his insensitive remarks following the death of his ex-manager, Stelliza. The singer had celebrated her demise, claiming he had "collected his glory back," which sparked widespread condemnation.
