Following the reinstatement of Nigeria's old National Anthem, "Nigeria We Hail Thee," comedian Otaghware Otas Onodjayeke, popularly known as Igosave, has called on President Bola Tinubu's administration to also return the country to the economic and security standards it inherited.

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law, officially bringing back the old anthem. This move has sparked widespread reactions and debate across the nation.

Reacting to the change, Igosave took to his Instagram story to express his concerns. He urged the Federal Government to focus on more pressing issues such as the economy and security. "Since una don bring back old national anthem; can you people bring back our old dollar price, old fuel price, old flight prompt operating style, old taxation, old security standards et al," he wrote, highlighting the longing for better days past.

Igosave's comments reflect a growing sentiment among Nigerians who feel that the government is not prioritizing the country's critical challenges. Many believe that efforts should be directed towards improving the economy, ensuring security, and stabilizing the cost of living.

Other celebrities, including actress Kate Henshaw and singer Joeboy, have also criticized the government for focusing on the anthem change rather than addressing more urgent national issues. Their reactions echo the frustrations of many citizens who are grappling with economic hardships and security concerns.

The reinstatement of "Nigeria We Hail Thee" has thus become a symbol of a broader call for the government to take decisive action in improving the country's overall conditions. As the nation watches closely, the hope is that these voices will spur more substantial and impactful changes beyond symbolic gestures.
