Nigerian music sensation Davido is riding high on the waves of excitement as his former signee Dremo drops a scorching diss track aimed at renowned Nigerian rapper Sarkodie.

The track comes in response to Sarkodie's recent song where he belittled Dremo, alongside Wizkid, Burna Boy, and others.

Sarkodie, whose real name is Michael Owusu Addo, caused a stir online on May 10th, 2024, by naming Burna Boy as the new cat in town, indirectly placing himself above Wizkid and Davido.

In his track "Brag," Sarkodie claimed he was already in the music scene before Wizkid's rise to fame and suggested that his music improved when Davido entered the industry.

"The Highest," as Sarkodie is affectionately known, also asserted his dominance in the current music scene, mentioning Burna Boy, Asake, and Black Sherif as his contemporaries. He dropped the single on his YouTube channels with a cartoon visual.

In his words: "Wizkid came, I was already doing it, Davido started, I was improving it, then Odogwu came through Black Sherif & Asake."

He noted that his biggest competitors are Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole.

However, the Nigerian rapper Dremo unleashed a blistering counterattack on Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie today.

In the scathing track, Dremo dismisses Sarkodie's claims, asserting that success in the music industry is not solely about longevity but also about impact. He boldly declares that Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and others have solidified their places as great artists in the industry today.

Using the derogatory term "Baba Dudu" to refer to Sarkodie, Dremo emphasizes that the order of entry into the music scene is inconsequential. He asserts that no one cares about the timeline and suggests that Sarkodie should focus on his Ghanaian colleagues like Medikal and Shatta Wale.

Issuing a stern warning, Dremo advises Sarkodie to compose before he decomposes, implying that Sarkodie's relevance is fading. He accuses Sarkodie of seeking attention and ridicules him for comparing himself to American rap icons Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole.

In a final jab, Dremo challenges Sarkodie to respond to his diss track, suggesting that failure to do so would indicate his defeat as a Nigerian rapper.

However, just like other Nigerians, singer Davido was superexcited over Dremo diss track to Sarkodie and by extension took to the comment section to react.

Davido, known for his vibrant personality, took to social media to express his delight at Dremo's retaliation, applauding the rapper for standing up to Sarkodie's apparent disregard for their contributions to the music industry.

Reacting via the comment section, Davido drops some laughing emoji, showcasing his utmost support for Dremo.

Fans have been quick to rally behind Dremo, praising him for his lyrical prowess and defending his honor against Sarkodie's dismissive remarks.
