It was a day of high tension at Lead British International School in Abuja as the school grappled with the fallout from a bullying incident that had gone viral on social media since Monday.

The events unfolding at the school since Monday resemble a carefully crafted movie script, with each scene revealing new twists and turns. The school called an emergency meeting for all parents to address the situation. As parents arrived at the school, they witnessed a dramatic scene as the bully, Maryam Hassan, entered the premises, trailed by a crowd trying to capture her on camera.

Amidst the chaos, a woman emerged from the crowd, identified as the mother or aunt of the bullied girl, Namtira Bwala. She hurled insults and questions at Maryam, who appeared apologetic. In a swift move, the woman slapped Maryam on the cheek before being restrained by onlookers.

The school authorities later announced the closure of the school for three days due to the incident. Lawyer and human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed the closure in a social media post, stating that he had met with the parents of the bullied children and assured them of justice.
