The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is set to arraign popular cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, at the Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday, April 5, 2024.
Bobrisky faces charges related to naira abuse and failure to declare his firm's activities involving the sum of N180.7 million.
The EFCC filed the charge against Bobrisky through Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Rotimi Oyedepo, following his arrest on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, for alleged naira abuse.
The charges include six counts, with the first four accusing Bobrisky of tampering with Naira notes during social events at various locations in Lagos. These acts are said to contravene Section 21(1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act, 2007.

The 5th and 6th counts accuse Bobrisky of offences connected with his company, Bob Express, for failing to submit a declaration of the company's activities to the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering, despite substantial sums being paid into the company's account.
The EFCC's arrest and detention of Bobrisky came after a video surfaced online showing him spraying and flaunting wads of new Naira notes at the premiere of a movie produced by Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao on March 24, 2024.
Bobrisky remains in EFCC custody as he reportedly failed to meet the bail conditions granted to him. The case has generated significant interest and reactions on social media, with many eagerly awaiting the outcome of the arraignment.
