Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has responded to the recent crackdown on individuals abusing the Naira by the EFCC.

Following the court appearance of Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, for Naira abuse and subsequent bail of N30 million, Portable has issued a preemptive apology to the government and cautioned his fans.

He appealed to the EFCC for forgiveness if they witnessed him throwing money at fans and the less privileged. Additionally, he urged his fans to open bank accounts so he could transfer money to them instead.

Portable emphasized that he and his team do not engage in Naira mutilation, stating, "We don't use to mutilate Naira o, we help a lot of people." He explained that his gesture of throwing money is an act of generosity and support for those in need. He assured his fans that money remains his means of giving back and providing security at his events.

He concluded by advising his fans to prioritize government regulations and to understand that financial transactions would now be done through bank transfers for their convenience and safety.
