Persianas Group and Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) joined forces with Oak View Group and Live Nation for a groundbreaking ceremony, heralding the construction of Africa's first 12,000-capacity arena in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Led by Tayo Amusan, Chairman of The Persianas Group, and supported by Live Nation and Oak View Group, renowned global entertainment companies, the $100 million project aims to create a monumental hub for entertainment and sports, complete with hotel facilities and ample parking space.

With Nigeria's vibrant music scene and a population exceeding 220 million, the country eagerly anticipates its dedicated arena. Set in Lagos, Nigeria's commercial hub, the arena will host various events, from music performances to sports matches, boosting Nigeria's entertainment industry and economy.

The project is expected to create over 1500 direct and indirect jobs, enhancing Nigeria's entertainment and sports sectors. Construction is underway, with the arena slated for completion by December 2025, marking a milestone in Nigeria's cultural and entertainment landscape.

Oak View Group, LLC (OVG), founded in 2015 by Tim Leiweke and Irving Azoff, specializes in managing sports venues. OVG is known for projects like the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, overseen by Tim Leiweke, the company's CEO.

Lagos, Nigeria, is renowned for its vibrant entertainment scene, attracting global attention. With Africa's first purpose-built entertainment arena on the horizon, Lagos is poised to solidify its status as a top destination for music, sports, and cultural events on the continent.

With diverse offerings, from Afrobeats concerts to traditional dance performances, Lagos appeals to a wide range of tastes. The addition of the new arena is set to enhance Lagos' reputation as a dynamic hub for creativity, innovation, and entertainment in Africa, with construction expected to finish by December 2025.
