Nigerian singer Omah Lay sparked controversy on the internet yesterday for inviting a female fan, who reportedly attended the concert with her boyfriend, to join him on stage during his performance of the song 'Bend You.'
Videos of the duo's silhouette shared online by concertgoers caused a stir, with many condemning the act.
Despite the backlash, Omah Lay has given a shoutout to the female fan involved in the performance. The incident took place during the European leg of his 'Boy Alone Tour' at the Eventim Apollo in London on Tuesday, February 20.
In a video circulating on social media, British-Nigerian media personality Shopsydoo could be heard urging Omah Lay to give a shoutout to the fan, whom he identified as Fafa. The singer obliged, expressing his love for her.
Shopsydoo: “Oga, give Fafa a shoutout, that your fan.”
Omah Lay: “Fafa, that’s her name? Fafa, I love you.”
