The Lagos City Marathon is an annual marathon race held in Lagos, Nigeria, by Access Bank. It was first organized in 2016, held every February and has since become one of the major marathons in Africa.
The event is recognized by the Association of International Mar amateur City ( takes the landmarks race Surko with various water and refreshment stations along the route.
The marathon has different categories, including the full marathon, half marathon, 10-kilometer race, and a wheelchair race. Participants compete for cash prizes, and the event also promotes fitness, health, and tourism in Lagos.
The Lagos City Marathon has gained popularity over the years, with increasing participation and support from the local community. It is a significant event on the Nigerian sports calendar and continues to grow in stature and international recognition.
This year's event held today, February 10th, 2024 and as usual it characterized glamour with participants drawn from all over Africa and beyond.
