Dabby Chimere's 'Rush Hour' to Hit Prime Video on March 1st [Video]

In this feature drama shot in August 2022, audiences will follow Ronke's journey through life and love. When her long-time boyfriend is suddenly thrust into a life of fame, Ronke finds herself torn between the love she has always known and the life she has always desired.

Set to be released this March, "Rush Hour" boasts a star-studded cast including Alex Ekubo, Sandra Okunzuwa, Mercy Aigbe, Nosa Rex, Anita Joseph, Etinosa Idemudia, and more.

Written and directed by Dabby Chimere, this Nigerian production is confirmed to be a direct-to-streaming title. Director Chimere describes the genre as drama with a lot of comic relief, aiming to tell a beautiful love story about an aspiring musician and his love life, moving beyond the cliché of his struggle for success in the music industry.

Chimere worked closely with Mannie, who wrote "Head Over Bills," to develop the script through four drafts to the final shooting draft. The casting was crucial, with Chimere ensuring each actor was the right fit for their role.

While Amazon has ceased production of new Amazon Originals in Africa, it will continue to roll out approved shows like "Ebuka Turns Up Africa," maintaining its presence in the region. This decision, however, means that Amazon will no longer greenlight local shows in sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Despite this change, Amazon Prime still provides opportunities for filmmakers like Dabby Chimere to showcase their work on a global platform beyond traditional cinema releases, enabling broader exposure and cultural exchange.

Dabs Production promises that audiences will love the sincerity of the story, finding it very relatable. While some viewers might be heartbroken by Ronke's choices, they will still have an enjoyable viewing experience, as "Rush Hour" ultimately tells a captivating love story.
