This April, get ready for "Ajosepo," a film that dives into the chaos and love that comes with family.

In "Ajosepo," estranged brothers Jide and Dapo are forced to come together when their father gets involved in a compromising situation with the bride's aunt, putting the wedding at risk.

Produced by Filmtrybe and Singularity, this movie explores the theme of family bonds, featuring a talented cast including Timini Egbuson, Bisola Aiyeola, Tomike Adeoye, Mercy Aigbe, Mike Afolarin, as well as Nollywood veterans Yemi Solade, Ronke Ojo, and Muyiwa Ademola.

Directed by Kayode Kasum, produced by Feyifunmi Oginni, and written by Stephen Okonkwo, "Ajosepo" promises a captivating story brought to life by Emmanuel Igbekele's cinematography.

Kayode Kasum started his career as a motion graphics designer at Wale Adenuga Productions before moving into a producer role in advertising. He made his directorial debut with "Dognapped," Nigeria's first live-action animation film, in 2017. However, it was his 2018 film "Oga Bolaji" that really put him on the map.

Since then, he has directed several successful Nollywood films, including "Sugar Rush" and "Fate of Alakada." Kasum has also directed over 10,860 minutes of MNET's telenovela series "Unbroken" and "Riona."

Kasum has been recognized for his work, receiving a nomination for The Future Awards Africa 2019 prize for Filmmaking and being named one of the top Nollywood directors in 2020.

In "Ajosepo," viewers can expect echoes of Tunde Kelani's "Thunderbolt," offering a modern take on family and societal dynamics. Set in contemporary times, the film explores themes of tradition and societal expectations, similar to Kelani's work.

As audiences engage with the film's portrayal of family conflicts and evolving social norms, it is expected to spark discussions on tradition, family values, and the adaptation of cultural heritage in today's society.

"Ajosepo" is set to premiere in theatres on April 12th, 2024, with the official trailer out, see below:
