Nigerian singer Yemi Alade is set to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2023/2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The announcement was made by the songstress in a post on her official X account, where she expressed her excitement, describing the opportunity as a dream come true.

The opening ceremony of AFCON 2023 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 13, 2024.

While emphasising the importance of prayers, she said; “I can’t buttress the importance of prayer and speaking your heart desires into existence.

“Since 2016, I have desired to perform at the stadium for football ceremonies surrounded by hundreds of dancers and people.

“7 years later, I’m performing at AFCON. It is indeed an honour and a dream come true. It’s just the beginning.”
