Shaffy Bello finds it disrespectful for young people to address her by name

Nollywood actress Shaffy Bello has expressed her discomfort with younger individuals addressing her by her first name, stating that she finds it disrespectful.

Additionally, the actress revealed that she is irked when greeted with a simple "Hi" accompanied by a wave.

Shaffy Bello shared her perspective on this matter during a recent episode of the Me, Her And Everything Else podcast.

While acknowledging the cultural and upbringing differences that influence people's greetings worldwide, she emphasized her preference for being addressed with respect.

The actress mentioned that she would rather be called "Ma'am" than addressed by her first name, underscoring her expectation for a level of formality in communication.

On how she handles young people who call her by her name, Bello said, “Usually my response is simple and I say it with love, I pull them close and I tell them ‘you haven’t earned the right to call me by my name, I have a child as old as you are. Even if I didn’t have children you haven’t earned the right, and you would never earn the right at your age to call me my name.”
