Peter Akanni Akorede, the veteran juju musician famously known as Emperor Pick Peter for his hit "Omode de," has sadly passed away at the age of 74. The talented musician's death was confirmed after a brief illness.

Music promoter and Evergreen Music founder, Bimbo Esho, shared the news of his passing on her Facebook page with the message, "Omo Ode Ti Ku – The Hunter’s Son is Dead." Emperor Pick Peter's contributions to juju music will be remembered by his fans and the music industry.

“His name should ring bell to all lovers of Juju Music. Emperor Pick Peters one of Nigeria’s great Juju musicians, succumbed to the cold hands of death today in Abeokuta at age 74.

“May his Gentle Soul rest in peace.”
