During a recent interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast, renowned Nigerian comedienne Helen Paul shared an intriguing revelation, disclosing that she was the voice behind the memorable line 'Uncle, Please Tell Us a Story' in Psquare's hit song 'Story,' released in 2005.
At the time, Helen, now 45, was working as a studio receptionist. When the initially chosen children for the voiceover didn't appear, Helen stepped in and lent her voice to the iconic part of the song, adding an unexpected chapter to her diverse career.
“I didn’t know PSquare at the beginning. I didn’t even know they were going to blow. They came to the studio, and they wanted to record their songs.
“When the song started reigning, I didn’t even know what it was to put your name on a song; I didn’t fight for it.”
