Burna Boy Offers to Pay Nigerian Blogs to Halt Writing Stories About Him

Grammy-winning artist Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, recently made an unconventional proposition to Nigerian bloggers. The self-proclaimed "African Giant" openly expressed his willingness to pay Nigerian blogs to cease publishing news about him. Burna Boy admitted that he hadn't previously compensated any blogs in Nigeria for their coverage.

He encouraged Nigerian bloggers to collaborate and determine a suitable price, which they could then present to him for the purpose of discontinuing all news coverage related to him. This unusual request highlights the dynamic relationship between celebrities and media in the digital age.

On his X handle on Friday, Burna Boy wrote, “How far. all these Instablog, PulseNg e.t.c, abeg make all of una do meeting then decide how much I go give all of una make una forget my name totally. I know say I never pay any of una before so I say make I just run am finally. I greet you bros!!”

His post elicited mixed reactions,
as some of his fans cautioned him that such a move could lead to him being "forgotten" if bloggers stopped reporting on his activities.

This development reflects the somewhat strained relationship between Burna Boy and Nigerian bloggers, stemming from his previous warnings to bloggers regarding the free distribution of his music on their websites.

The artist had expressed frustration with Nigerian bloggers for pirating his music, leading to ongoing tensions in the past. The mixed reactions to his recent offer showcase the complex interplay between artists, media, and their online presence.
