Talent manager and Tiwa Savage's estranged husband, Teebillz, has issued a public apology for his controversial remarks concerning singer Mohbad's tragic passing.
Mohbad, a former signee of the Marlian Record label owned by Naira Marley, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, leading to widespread speculations. Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, faced accusations of involvement in Mohbad's sudden death.
Despite their denials, songs by Marley and artists from his record label were removed from the playlists of numerous Nigerian broadcast stations and some international music channels, including MTV Base.
In response to these developments, Teebillz defended Naira Marley and Zinoleesky, emphasizing that "Marley believed in and supported Mohbad's music career when none of the supposed posthumous advocates of love did."
Teebillz's defense stirred outrage among many Nigerians, prompting social media backlash. However, it appears that the online criticism has prompted a change of heart in the talent manager. He expressed regret for any offense caused and clarified that he did not intend to diminish people's feelings or opinions.
In another post on his Instagram page, he said: “I’m sincerely sorry for the insensitivity of my earlier post! I don’t mean to undermine anyone’s feelings or opinions.
“I just rather be of help to this young man than judging him based on association alongside being a product of his environment. MENTAL HEALTH played a major role in MOHBAD’s last days whether you agree with me or not! ZINO is definitely feeling the impact too mentally now!!! My heart also goes out to SOLID STAR.”
