In a recent development, the Niger State Police Command has successfully apprehended a man named Usman Yahaya Muhammad from Kinboku-Kudu Village, located in Mokwa Local Government. Muhammad stands accused of committing a heinous crime - the alleged murder of a motorcycle rider in the area.
The state's Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrest during a parade of suspects held in Minna. Abiodun stated that the suspect was taken into custody on charges of culpable homicide. Shedding light on the incident, Abiodun revealed that after committing the gruesome act, Muhammad callously abandoned the lifeless body and made his escape with the stolen motorcycle.
The police authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the matter to gather all the necessary evidence and ensure that justice is served. The arrest of Usman Yahaya Muhammad serves as a reminder of the commitment of the Niger State Police Command to maintain law and order in the region.
The suspected serial killer was asked about the motive behind the murder; he said, “I cannot say why I killed him. Something made me do it. After I finished killing him, I went and reported myself to our vigilante leader in my area, who then reported the incident to the police, leading to my arrest.”
“I macheted the Okada rider to death on the neck twice, and he fell. I then took the motorcycle away.”
He was asked again, if he wished to face a similar fate to what he inflicted on his victim, he replied, “No, I want to die the way I killed. I want to live.”
In a surprising turn of events, the perpetrator, who incidentally revealed that his wedding was set to take place on Friday, has been involved in eight previous instances of the same criminal activity.
Additionally, law enforcement authorities have revealed that they have recently apprehended a total of 38 individuals, with seven of them facing charges in court for robbery, state
