Residents of Abuja and other cities gripped by panic over alleged disappearance of manhood.

Residents of Abuja and other cities gripped by panic over alleged disappearance of manhood.

Concerns are growing over criminal activities involving the theft of male genital organs in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Abuja, and other states across the country.

There has been a recent surge in reported cases of missing genital organs in several North Central states, including Kogi, Nasarawa, Kaduna, and the nation's capital.

The exact methods used by these criminals to carry out such acts remain unclear. However, residents of the FCT have been living in fear for over a month now due to the reported incidents of male genital organ theft.

The disturbing trend has resulted in the murder of individuals by angry young people who have targeted suspects believed to be responsible for the mysterious disappearance of male genitalia.

There are varying accounts of how this horrific crime is being carried out in the city. Some claim that a simple conversation with the alleged thief can lead to the victim's penis vanishing, while others believe it occurs after physical contact, such as a handshake.

It is worth noting that on August 23, the Nasarawa State Police Command issued a warning to residents about the dangers of engaging in vigilante justice against those accused of organ theft. The command disclosed  that some persons were attacked in Nas, Obi, Lafia, and Keffi Local Government Areas of the state over similar allegations.

According to DSP Ramhan Nansel, the State's Police Public Relations Officer, a thorough medical examination was conducted on the alleged victims, and they were found to be in good health. He strongly emphasized that there was no basis for the accusations made against them.

In a separate incident that occurred on September 20, a young man in phase 2, Gwagwalada area of the FCT, was tragically killed by group enraged youths who accused him of stealing someone's manhood. Three days later, another resident named Lucky Josiah was also accused of being responsible for the disappearance of someone's manhood.

The incident has been confirmed by SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer, who assured that the police promptly responded to a distress call concerning the lynching of a victim.

A man named Lucky narrowly escaped a violent mob attack recently, thanks to the timely intervention of the police.

SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident and highlighted a similar case in Gwagwalada.

In that instance, a man named Saheed was falsely accused of being a manhood thief, but medical examinations proved his innocence as his male organ was found to be unharmed. Lucky, who suffered injuries during the attack, received the necessary medical treatment.

These distressing incidents have been occurring with alarming frequency, both in the city center and its surrounding areas. Adding to the distress, a disturbing video has surfaced online, showing the torture and dehumanization of an alleged manhood thief by a mob, some of whom were even wearing security uniforms.

Video footage has emerged of an individual who has been accused of stealing two manhoods, vehemently denying any involvement in the alleged crime.

However, recent developments suggest that some of the accusations made by the supposed victims of manhood theft may be unfounded and driven by ulterior motives.

A confidential source within the security forces in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has disclosed to DAILY POST that many of the reported incidents were actually premeditated acts.

The source revealed that certain criminal elements, currently wreaking havoc in the city, deliberately orchestrate disturbances in crowded areas as a means to exploit unsuspecting individuals and pilfer their belongings.

According to him, certain individuals in the nation's capital are exploiting the trend to commit additional atrocious crimes.

“About 80 percent of the alarms raised by these people that claim that their manhood is missing are fake. It is a new strategy to steal people’s belongings.

“Most times, what happens is that these people go to places that are crowded and then one or two of them raise the alarm that their penises are stolen. They do it just to capture attention.

“Normally, when such things occur, people tend to forget themselves and focus on what is happening, it is at that moment that other members of the gang will start stealing phones, bags, and even cars.

“By the time the alleged victims notice that the jobs have been done, you will start hearing something like, ‘my manhood is back’, back from where exactly?

“The only way out of this is that when any person raises such an alarm and it is discovered whether in the hospital or anywhere that he lied, such person should be arrested and prosecuted for raising false alarm. If the police do this to at least three persons, the trend will reduce,” he said.

A video clip obtained by DAILY POST has exposed the confession of an individual who allegedly admitted to being involved in the act of stealing men's genitals in Nasarawa State. The man claimed that simply engaging in conversation with him and responding would result in the loss of one's manhood. He further stated that he was employed by a local traditional healer.

However, the Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) informed DAILY POST that the confession may have been coerced.

“The condition he was in at that moment may determine why he made such a confession”, he said.

Scientifically Impossible: Manhood Theft Debunked

Experts have dismissed the claims of manhood theft as baseless and rooted in superstition rather than scientific evidence.

Local residents have attributed the alleged trend to ritualists, specifically internet fraudsters who supposedly send young boys to the city to harvest men's genitals for sacrificial purposes in order to charm their potential victims.

Former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, expressed concern about the increasing prevalence of these claims in the Federal Capital.

In a social media post, the prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member highlighted the dangers of mob justice, emphasizing that the accused individuals may be innocent.

He wrote, “The claim of manhood stealing is becoming rampant in Abuja and the lawlessness is when the accused or wrongly accused are lynched by a mob. There is no scientific basis behind such claims. It’s simply magicians at work”.

According to a health expert, Dr Kaleb Ugo, who spoke with DAILY POST on Saturday, it is medically impossible for a man’s organ to just disappear without a cut.

He said the allegations are “based on African magic and not facts.”

Ugo, however, said there are medical conditions that may lead to a shrinking of manhood but not a total disappearance as being peddled by alleged victims.

He said peyronie’s disease and erectile dysfunction can lead to the reduction in the size of penis.

The doctor explained that peyronie’s disease condition is when a body begins to form a condition called plague, which is the forming of scar tissue in the lining surrounding the corpora cavernosa, known as the tunica albuginea.

According to him, the condition can lead to the shortness of the penis.

He said patients suffering from the disease will always notice that their organs are shorter than they were.

On erectile dysfunction, Ugo explained that when a man stops experiencing an erection for a long time, there are possibilities that the manhood would shrink.

“Just like every other thing, for instance, when your car packs up and you stop using it for six months, you don’t expect it to remain like it was.

“Somehow, when our body stops having regular erections, the elastic tissue that stretches the penis from the flaccid state into the erect state can transform in a way that the penis loses its elasticity.

“And when the penis is no longer elastic, it won’t stretch when you get an erection, and you will notice you lost length”, he said.

DAILY POST reports that the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna Garba had warned against spreading false information regarding alleged organ disappearance.

According to the CP, such rumours had led to public anxiety and disruption of peace across the territory.
