Music executive Abisoye, also known as 'Cash 'N' Out,' has stated that the contract signed by the late Nigerian rapper Mohbad with his former record label, Marlian Music, was indeed "fair."

Following Mohbad's tragic death on September 12, 2023, there has been a significant amount of criticism regarding how he was treated by Marlian Music boss Naira Marley and his associates after leaving the record label in 2022.

Upon his departure from the label, Mohbad, in a letter dated October 25, 2022, and signed by his lawyer, O.M Falade, cited the non-fulfillment of the terms of the contract he initially signed in 2019 when he joined the record label. He also accused the label of failing to pay him the royalties from monetized intellectual content and advances as mutually agreed.

In a recent interview with Arise TV, Abisoye claimed that he had the opportunity to review the contract that the late rapper had signed and insisted that it was "fair."

He mentioned that the contract was the result of a joint agreement between the record label and the late artist. However, things did not unfold as Mohbad had anticipated.

Abisoye stated, "I may not be able to discuss Mohbad's contract with Marlian Music in great detail here. But because I've had the chance to review it before, I would say that it was a fair one."

“In his defence, me and him [Mohbad] always talk about that contract. That contract was a joint venture. It means he comes to the table as who ever he is and the label comes to the table and they put two together and they make something which is a beautiful arrangement but some how it didn’t just go the way he thought it would go. And like I said, I won’t be able to speak more on that.”
