In a surprising turn of events, former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou was denied a shocking victory over WBC boxing champion Tyson Fury in a non-title bout held in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
The controversial split-decision result declared Fury as the winner, with scores of 96-93 and 95-94 in his favor on two of the judges' cards. The third judge scored it 95-94 for Ngannou.
It's worth noting that Fury remains undefeated as a professional boxer, while Ngannou was making his professional boxing debut.
Despite Ngannou's control over most of the 10 rounds, Fury was controversially awarded the narrow split-decision win.
