Enzo Fernandez, from Chelsea, identifies a footballer capable of emulating Messi and Ronaldo.

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has revealed his pick for the footballer who he believes has the potential to follow in the footsteps of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. 

In an interview with journalist Rodrigo Lara, Fernandez was asked to name the player he thinks ranks third after Messi and Ronaldo. After a moment of hesitation, Fernandez named France's Kylian Mbappe. 

He said: “It’s very hard to say, but I think Kylian Mbappe is that type of player.”

Fernandez and Mbappe recently faced off in the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tie between Argentina and France, where Argentina emerged victorious after a thrilling 3-3 draw and a penalty shootout. 

Mbappe's heroic hat-trick kept France in the match, while Messi's brace and Angel Di Maria's goal secured the win for Argentina.
