Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has firmly declared that he will never engage in real-life money rituals, even though he is known for his roles in movies that depict occultic practices.
In an interview with Afia TV, the renowned actor emphasized his aversion to money rituals, categorically stating that he has never participated in such activities. Kanayo explained that the nickname "Nnanyi Sacrifice" was given to him by someone during billionaire businessman Obi Cubana's mother's funeral, but he promptly rejected it. Despite his rejection, the label has persisted.
He clarified that he is not concerned about the names people call him as long as he is compensated for his work.
Kanayo said, “Money ritual is not good and will never be good. I will never be part of it and have never been part of it. When you hear somebody call me ‘Nnanyi Sacrifice,’ it was just the name somebody called me during Obi Cubana’s mother’s burial.
“One thing about names is that immediately you start rejecting it, it sticks. Call me any name you like, but pay me my cheque. If we listen to the message, we will change the society more. I am just a vessel.”
