Nigerian rapper and singer, Chibuzor Nelson Azubuike, known as Phyno, has shared his experience of being advised to join a cult or partake in rituals to achieve rapid fame during his early days as an aspiring artist.
Reflecting on his journey and offering guidance to emerging musicians about shortcuts to success, Phyno emphasized the importance of hard work, determination, and resilience in his own path to stardom.
“Before many people heard of Phyno, I’d had songs that no one knew existed.
“A couple of friends told me to blow, I must join a cult or sacrifice something or someone, I told them the price is too much. I’ll never do such.
“I believed in myself and the power of hard work, I started little and today I thank God,” he said.
Phyno advised young artistes against desperation, but to imbibe the spirit of hard work and patience.
The ‘Alobam’ crooner urged them to “keep working, when it’s time, you’ll shine.”
He cautioned young talents against hastily accepting recording deals without carefully considering the terms, as such decisions could lead to regret in the long run.
